This one had me laughing and dancing around my apartment. WIN!

Yesterday's Post

Howdy Ya'll,
This was my Good Morning Tweet from yesterday. Sorry it is one day late. I did say, "No more free advertising Sprint."
I am going to get my butt in gear and least do something and post it to this blog everyday. Here is a cute flower to brighten your day. I think that I can toss one more in for good measure, so here is the waterfall from the Missouri Botanical Garden.
Have a great Tuesday!
Mati :-)
PS. I do realize that means I will still owe one for this evening. ;-)

Embedded Barcodes

This is really just a little test to see how this type of embeddable barcode works out thanks to the folks at NeoReader. I need a new smart-phone that is for sure. I appreciate your playing along. I grabbed most of my information from a three part blog series by Sarah Perez entitled "The Scannable World".
Be well!
Mati :-)

New Years Day 2009 Float change
Culled from the e-mail to the St. Louis Canoe & Kayak Club for proper attribution. You could look at this like a guest post from Kathy. :-)
"This year I am changing the New years Day Float plan. for the following
reasons:
* The shuttle is longer than the paddle
* No toilet/changing facilities at the former float
* Detour on shuttle route
This Year I would like to do an Up stream Meramec R paddle from Rt 66
Park to the confluence of the Big River.
Advantages:
* No shuttle
* easy parking and ramp
* outhouse for changing and whatever
* paddle as long as you want and return when you get cold
Directions: Go West on Rt 44 and Exit Lewis RD .( Just before the
Eureka Exit)
Continue to right and follow signs to Rt 66 Park / go across old Rt 66
bridge. Turn Rt after the bridge and follow signs to boat ramp.
Meet at 10:30 AM
We will paddle upstream and current is not very strong until you get
about 2 1/2- 3 miles miles up stream at the confluence of the Big R.
This should be appropriate for all levels/ types of Kayaks and gets
shallow past the confluence of the Big River. Canoes can do it as
well. There are no riffles until you pass the Big R confluence . This
is more scenic that our usual paddle but you will be paddling against
the current.
It will likely be cold so please wear appropriate clothing. Make sure
you dress for the water and keep your hands, feet , core , and head
warm. I will reserve the right to decline any paddler who is not
properly dressed for the weather. Hypothermia can kill
This is a club sponsored paddle so : free for St Louis Canoe Kayak club
members with ACA or MWA members with ACA memberships
If you are a club member but not ACA then you must fill out an ACA
waiver and pay $5
If you are ACA but not a club member of this club or MWA than you pay
$5
I will be checking membership cards
There will be a Pot Luck at my home in Fenton after the paddle. I
supply a main course,some beer, wine, soda, coffee.
This is a fun way to welcome in the New Year and we usually have at
least 20 paddlers. Hope to see you there!"
I think that I will have to make this one and start the year of right.....in a kayak. :-)

Just a thought
Whoever destroys a soul, it is considered as if he destroyed an entire world. And whoever saves a life, it is considered as if he saved an entire world.
